Seafood exports earned over 3 billion USD in the first ten months, fulfilling 85 percent of the yearly target and representing a year-on-year increase of 10.8 percent, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
In October alone, the staple fetched 350 million USD.
Turnover of tra and basa catfish exports has been increasing in the EU, the US , ASEAN, and Ukraine thanks to the producers’ measures to ensure food safety.
To raise the seafood export turnover, MARD urged domestic enterprises to obey all packaging, labeling and food safety regulations.
